Overlooking Willapa Bay in Nahcotta, Washington

Creative Cuisine of the Pacific Northwest

ark restaurant and bakeryAny trip to the Long Beach Peninsula in Southwest Washington is incomplete without the experience known as The Ark Restaurant. The trip up the eastern road of the Peninsula is well worth it when it comes to The Ark Restaurant's dining adventure.

When you pull up to the front of The Ark, you are met with an unassuming red wooden building. The mountains of oyster shells outside are silent but eloquent testimonies to the tens of thousands of oysters served over the years. The Ark facing Willapa Bay, a perfect spot to watch the herons, fish and the changing tides.

A visitor can watch local fishermen tend their boats next door at the Nahcotta dock or, walk to the end of the jetty to gaze across pristine Willapa Bay and Long Island, filling their lungs with crisp sea air.

Casual dress appropriate. Families very welcome

"The view of Willapa Bay is without parallel: waves bresking against the rock jetty, blue herons talking through the marsh grass, the old growth forests of Long Island in the distance. The light of the salmon boats, navigating their gillnets through the channels in the dark. I'll never forget any of them."
